Build Your Own Pavilion

Phoebe, age 9

My design was inspired by a beautiful double rainbow I once saw spread over The Serpentine after a storm. I would like my pavilion to be used as a space for adults and children to relax and dream while enjoying the spectrum of colours and dappled light. Sunlight would filter through thin gaps between the coloured beams of wood which are made with pipe cleaners in my design. I also used brightly coloured feathers and card which could be made of translucent cloth materiel that would create a golden warm interior protected from the breeze. Young children would enjoy lying on the soft floor of cushions while looking up at the rainbows of colours and light. A place to dream, a space to relax.
